Homeless Street Outreach and Engagement

Planning for developing the Watts World Revival’s Homeless Street Outreach and Engagement Program began mid-2022. Our goal of helping those in the community experiencing homelessness due to mental illness, substance use disorder, disability and other barriers by referring them to community partners and agencies that will place them began in 2023. Partnerships were formed with The Watts Labor Community Action Committee (WLCAC) is a non-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization incorporated in the State of California and Champions of Caring Connection, Inc. a California 501c3 charitable organization.

Homeless Outreach and Engagement - Watts World Revival, wattsworldrevival.orgOur Strategy to assist those experiencing homelessness or those at-risk is to connect them to an access center. At the center the providers will do an intake, assign a case manager, and begin to link the person with needed resources including emergency housing and eventually permanent housing.

Although the Service Planning Area (SPA 6) covers the southern tip of downtown Los Angeles and the city boundaries of Vernon, Huntington Park, South Gate, Downey, and Bellflower form the SPA’s eastern border. our area of focus currently is only the greater Watts Community. Those needing assistance outside the greater Watts Community will not be denied our support .
